Watch: City of Cloverdale Earthquake Function Exercise

 

On May 28, 2026, the City of Cloverdale partnered with the Resilient Cloverdale Community Cohort (RC3) to run a functional exercise testing the activation and operation of the Care and Shelter Branch Command Post in response to a catastrophic earthquake impacting Cloverdale and Sonoma County.

​

The exercise put the draft RC3 Emergency Response Plan and RC3 Command Post Activation Playbook to the test through a simulated M7.4 earthquake scenario.

​

Participants successfully stood up the Command Post, activated communications systems, built a Common Operating Picture, and showed strong collaboration and adaptability as conditions evolved throughout the exercise.
